Get It While You Can Tasting

Some wines come along and strike a chord with people, and before you know it, they’re gone. Others may move slowly, but become valuable when they prove to be the last of their kind. Then there’s the ones that make a Top 100 list, or get big scores. We have these, and more this week at El Cajon.

We’ll sample the fastest moving Chardonnay we ever had, a Top 100 wine, some big scoring wines, and the last production of one of Napa/Sonoma’s first Cult Wine Makers. Greg Brown started the Cult Wine craze with his T Vine wines.  Tragically, he passed away unexpectedly, leaving the 2008 vintage as his last mark.

Get It While You Can Tasting

Butter Chardonnay     ($15.99 During Tasting)

  • One of the fastest selling Chardonnays we have ever carried. This wine always sells out waaaay before the next vintage is released. If you have purchased Butter Chardonnay in the past, stock up while you can.  Made by winemaker Rob Lloyd of Rombauer fame.

Juan Gil  Monastrel     ($13.99 During Tasting)

  • “Bright purple. Powerful scents of dark fruit preserves, potpourri and candied licorice, with peppery spices in the background. Sweet and expansive on the palate, showing a juicy quality to its black and blue fruit, mineral and licorice flavors. Closes smooth and smoky, with silky tannins and a lingering mocha quality.” 90 Points Wine Spectator

Tikal Patriota   ($21.99 During Tasting)

  • “A rich red, packed with concentrated flavors of blackberry, dark plum and mocha, featuring plenty of dark chocolate notes. Offers a ripe texture, with creamy accents and hints of savory herb on the long finish. Drink now through 2020″  #45 Top 100 Wine Spectator

Le Cirque  Rouge   ($11.99 During Tasting)

  • “The brilliant Le Cirque, a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre, is a sensational value.  Its dense ruby-purple color is followed by abundant aromas of blueberries, cassis, and pepper.” 91 Points Robert Parker

T~Vine Petite Syrah    ($32.99 During Tasting)

  • Though full-bodied and densely packed with dark rich fruit and thick tannins, the 08 Petite Sirah is remarkably balanced, polished and smooth – a Greg Brown winemaking calling card. It is worth noting that among the sources of this limited production Petite Syrah is the half-acre Oak Glade Vineyard, unique for its pre-prohibition cuttings.

We hope to see you out this weekend!
