<p><em>&#8220;Great wines for the barbeque&#8221;</em></p>
<p>Bill will be enjoying a well-deserved weekend off this week, but we’ll still have a tasting Friday evening.  The Saturday event will return next week. So no tastings this Saturday.</p>
<p>Friday we’ll enjoy a fantastic lineup of summer wines from France, Spain, and Italy.  They get their share of warm weather there, and they really know how to craft wines that satisfy when one needs a refresher, or a juicy red to go along with great barbecue.</p>
<p>I’m really excited to come back down and host a tasting for all of our great friends in El Cajon, and I’ve selected wines that I think will really impress!</p>
<p>Hope to see you Friday ~ Patrick</p>

<h2><em>Featuring the &#8220;Old World Summer Wines&#8221;<br />
</em></h2>
<h3><strong>This weekends selections: $15.00<br />
</strong></h3>
<p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong> <strong> <strong>Basa Verdejo 2012</strong> </strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong> </strong></strong></strong> </strong></strong> </strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong>($10.99 During Tasting)</strong><br />
</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>This vivacious and energetic white from the Rueda region of Spain is ultra refreshing. Wonderful, rich, precise nose of citrus fruit with subtle hints of spice. On the palate there is a wonderful minerality that supports the tart, crisp fruit. The finish is dry and zippy. This wine is the quintessential summer sipper!</li>
</ul>
<p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong> <strong>Abbaye Saint Hillaire Rose 2012</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong> </strong></strong> </strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong> </strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong>($13.99 During Tasting)</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>The perfect summer sipper for warm evenings and alfresco dining. This wine has everything you want from a rose; bright fresh fruit, crisp, refreshing acidity and a lovely minerality.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong> <strong>Scaia Corvina 2012</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong> </strong></strong></strong>  </strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong>($10.99 During Tasting)</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>  “The fantastic four Castagnedi brothers make some of my all-time favorite Amarone. This year, the big surprise is the 2012 Corvina Scaia. This exceptional value wine may well be the best deal in Italian wine today. “  ~ Robert Parker <em><strong>90+ Points Wine Advocate</strong></em></li>
</ul>
<p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong></strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong></strong></strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong> <strong>Grand Veneur CDP 2010</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong> </strong></strong></strong>  </strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong>($39.99 During Tasting)</strong><br />
</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Gorgeously pure and polished, with aromas of black raspberry, sweet spice, licorice, and hints of flowers all emerging from the glass, this medium to full-bodied, elegant, and perfectly balanced red has layers of texture, notable freshness, and enough structure to allow it to evolve gracefully for 10-15 years. <strong>93 Points Wine Advocate</strong></li>
</ul>
<p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong></strong></strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong> <strong>Veraton 2011</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong> </strong></strong></strong>  </strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong>($24.99 During Tasting)</strong><br />
</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A fabulous nose of spring flowers, ground pepper, blackberries and black cherry liqueur is followed by a full-bodied, super-intense wine made from incredibly low yields, and aged 17 months in a combination of French and American oak before being bottled unfiltered. This superb wine easily competes with wines priced two to three times higher. <em><strong>92 Points Wine Advocate</strong></em></li>
</ul>
<div>
<p><strong>Artazuri Garnacha 2012<strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong> </strong></strong></strong>  </strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong>($10.99 During Tasting)</strong><br />
</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A consumer-friendly wine that boasts heady aromas, succulent fruit and a good natural acidity, the Artazuri Garnacha is an ideal everyday wine</li>
</ul>
<p>See you this weekend!</p>
